This collection dates back to the 1800s and showcase a rich photographic, art and literary collection; a print archive, and collection of maps. These materials are supplemented by contemporary crowdsourced images and oral stories, that offer a more inclusive representation of our diverse narratives. Together, they offer deep insights into the histories of Kenya while capturing the beautiful nuances of everyday life. These materials are digitised by young Kenyans.

About this Collection
Each year, we recruit and train a team of interns who work with the archival department to digitise and upload the archival content onto this archive. As they do this, we ask them to pay attention to what stands out for them and at the end of their internship, we ask that they curate a collection for this section.
